Marbles Rolls Into The LA Shorts Fest

Some exciting news from the life of Charles came late last night. “Marbles,” the independent film I starred in that was shot in Charlotte this past March, was just accepted into the “Los Angeles International Short Film Festival” or “LA Shorts Fest” as it’s also known. This event is the largest short film festival in the world and is scheduled from July 21-29.

In an interview I conducted with myself around 2:00 AM, I was quoted as saying: “This is quite an honor. Obviously, I’m thrilled. I’m grateful to my Director Rory Karpf for the tremendous opportunity and feel fortunate to have spent time with such a wonderfully talented cast and crew. They made it all happen.” Two hours later – after the interview wrapped – I went bed…

Kidding aside, this is a nice moment for me. When I was out in Charlotte, I remember thinking, “This is what it’s all about. I want to do more.” I was truly lucky to be part of this project. The time I spent on this film inspired me to work even harder and push myself further as an actor.

In the film, I felt good about what I was able to bring to my performance but knew, at the time, there was much more inside of me. Since then, I’ve continued growing as an actor and I’m excited about where I’ll take my craft in the months and years ahead. I recognize as an artist I’ll always be learning and growing and, right now, I just can’t wait for my next big film. For now, my focus is on the “Karaoke Artist.” It’s the play I’m in that opens a week from Saturday on June 25.

The best thing about this journey though is all the support and encouragement I get from my family and  friends. You guys make it worth it. Now, just make sure to come to my show…
